The Supreme Court cannot remake what God has established.
Congress cannot deliver us from sin and greed.
The President cannot rescue us from lies and the murder of the unborn.
The governed cannot restore purity and fidelity to our families.
However, we are not without hope. The eye of the Lord is on those who fear him. The Spirit of Lord can change and dominate the heart of man. Only the Lord can deliver from death. Only the power of God can restore a nation. May we look to God to bring the power of the gospel to a darkened people who have lost their way.
The king is not saved by his great army;
a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
The war horse is a false hope for salvation,
and by its great might it cannot rescue.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his steadfast love,
that he may deliver their soul from death
and keep them alive in famine.
Psalm 33:16-19

Who cannot use this great reminder of how loving and awesome and powerful our God is and that we need not be afraid. Praise the Lord!
He is there! We only fail when we give in to personal twinges, and that is what they are and they exist for good reason – to awaken us to why we are here and then we receive that “boot of love” and begin again but with faith in our hearts instead of fear or anger.
Amen.
